The Waldhotel – nestled in the alpine landscape of the Bürgenberg and with views of the Central Swiss Alps – offers the ideal starting point for hiking trips. Paths to the various corners of the Bürgenberg start right in front of the hotel. There is a lot to discover like the Felsenweg that leads to the Hammetschwand Lift. Go for short walks or longer hikes without using any means of transportation other than your own feet. Other popular excursions lead you to nearby mountains, such as Mount Pilatus, Mount Rigi, Mount Stanserhorn and many more that are easy and fast to reach. Depending on how extensive the hike may be, it is necessary to plan on these mountains for half a day or even a whole day. Adventures can also be supplemented or shortened with the respective mountain railways.

The surroundings of the Bürgenberg can be easily discovered on two wheels. By choosing between bike and e-bike - which can be rented directly at the resort - you determine the intensity of the activity. One of our most popular tours starts directly at the resort and takes you first down the mountain to Ennetbürgen via Buochs to Ennerberg, where you can take a break and discover Switzerland in all its facets. Continue to Stans. There you can complement the day with a trip to the Stanserhorn before heading back to the resort. From Kehrsiten, you can take the Bürgenstock Bahn up the mountain, so that the steep mountain does not have to be climbed with your own muscle power. Another tour leads from the resort via Hergiswil to Lucerne. Enjoy a break at Hergiswil where the Glasi Hergiswil (Swiss factory that manufactures glass and its museum) can be visited. The route along Lake Lucerne is mostly flat. From Lucerne, depending on your mood, you can take the Bürgenstock Shuttle boat for the return journey or you can tackle it by bike.

Discover the dimension of Lake Lucerne with its four arms in all directions. A paragliding flight gives you the feeling of absolute freedom. By offering tandem flights, paragliding is also suitable for flight newcomers. No previous knowledge is necessary but a little courage must be brought along anyway. One of the popular starting points in the region of the Waldhotel is Niederbauen. Easy to reach and usually with good thermals, this place is ideal for tandem flights. A paragliding adventure lasts about 3 hours, with enough time left to make the day even more special.
Golf in the middle of the breathtaking mountain landscape. Just a short walk from the Waldhotel the Bürgenstock Resort’s 9-hole Alpine Golf Course is located. Enjoy the impressive nature, the mountain air and a varied golf course in the immediate vicinity. The golf course also includes a driving range, where you can perfect your tee shot in front of an impressive panorama.
Equipment can be rented on site and Golf Pros are available at selected times. The team also organizes regular tournaments. The Alpine Golf Course is open in good weather during summer months.
Staff is very friendly. Atmosphere of the hotel is full of calmness and relaxation. Rooms are spacious, light and comfortable. The hotel is not too big at the same time every person has its own space.
